Abstract

Migraine is one of the most disabling neurological conditions in the world, and despite thearrival of newer targeted therapies, a large fraction of sufferers still respond poorly or cannottolerate existing treatments, which keeps the search for new molecules alive. Natural productsremain a rich and under-exploited source of such molecules. This study investigates fargesin, a lignan isolated from Chrysanthemum indicum L., as a candidate anti-migraine compoundacting through the μ-opioid receptor encoded by the OPRM1 gene
