Abstract

Off-sun cooking capability is the principal limitation of conventional solar cookers, and thisshortfall is commonly addressed by coupling the cooking chamber with a thermal energystorage (TES) unit charged with a phase change material (PCM). Selecting the most suitable
PCM, however, is a multi-criteria decision problem in which several thermophysical, economic, and operational attributes conflict with one another, and in which the underlying property data reported in the literature carry a degree of imprecision.
