Abstract

Introduction: Canagliflozin is a dual sodium-glucose co-transporter 1 as well as 2 (SGLT1 and SGLT2) inhibitor. Sodium-dependent glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2) plays an important role in the regulation of blood glucose. It is indicated to treattype 2 diabetes mellitus. The absolute bioavailability of oral canagliflozin was approximately 25%. It is classified as BCS class II drug and has limited bioavailability due to poor aqueous solubility.
