Abstract

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) represents a global health challenge with high mortality, largelydriven by late diagnosis. Alpha- etoprotein (AFP), the conventional serological benchmark for HCC surveillance anddiagnosis, exhibits suboptimal sensitivity and specificity, with a significant proportion of patients, up to 40%,presenting with AFP-negative HCC.
