Parametric Optimization of Surface Roughness in Longitudinally Rough Short Bearings
Keywords:
Short bearing, Longitudinal roughness, Magnetic fluid, Reynolds equation, Load carrying capacityAbstract
A magnetic fluid was used as a lubricant to investigate how well a longitudinally shortbearing operates. Surface roughness is a stochastic random variable with values larger thanzero for mean, variance, and skewness.
