Abstract

Abstract. This paper describes the design and implementation of a traffic light controller for managing the intersectionbetween a busy highway and a little-used farm road. The controller uses a finite state machine (FSM) to efficientlymanage the light signals, ensuring optimal traffic flow while prioritizing highway traffic. When no vehicles aredetected on the farm road, the highway lights remain green, allowing uninterrupted flow. Upon detecting a vehicle onthe farm road, the highway lights transition from green to yellow to red,
