Abstract

Concrete remains the most widely used man-made construction material due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. However, the production of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), a conventional binder in concrete, generates significant carbon dioxide emissions—approximately 0.8 to 1 ton per ton of cement produced—contributing to environmental issues such as the greenhouse effect
and ecological imbalance.
