Abstract

Background: Pilonidal sinus (PNS) is a chronic inflammatory condition typically occurring in the sacrococcygeal region, characterized by the presence of hair-filled sinuses. It predominantly affects young adults, especially males, and is associated with significant discomfort and reduced quality of life. The management of pilonidal sinus primarily involves surgical intervention, as conservative measures are often insufficient for long-term resolution. This article provides an overview of surgical approaches and considerations for managing pilonidal sinus.
