Abstract

Weaving together AI technologies, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and Blockchain has broken through numerous barriers in remarkable ways, enabling intelligent automation, multilateral data transmission, and trustless verification processes. The new integration approach, however, comes with great security and privacy risks, stemming from the weaknesses of each component. AI systems can suffer from adversarial and data poisoning attacks, cybersecurity threats such DDoS attacks and illegitimate access endanger IIoT devices, and smart contracts from Blockchain can be abused through exploits as well as attacks on the consensus mechanism.
